Frequently Asked Questions about Shipping Cord Blood
1. What if I do not live in Canada?
Healthcord is able to efficiently process and store cord blood from clients from outside of Canada.
2. How is my baby's cord blood sample delivered to Healthcord?
If you live in the Lower Mainland or Vancouver Area, a local courier or one of your family members can bring the cord blood directly to Healthcord's laboratory in Vancouver. If you live outside of the Lower Mainland, follow the instructions in your Cord Blood Collection Kit to ship the cord blood to Healthcord by express courier. Once Healthcord receives your baby's cord blood, we will notify you of its receipt.
3. Will I be notified when my child's sample has arrived at Healthcord?
Yes, upon receipt of your baby's cord blood, one of our representatives will notify you of its receipt. Healthcord will issue formal documents indicating test results for your baby's paediatric records as well as a certificate for your records indicating the quantity of stem cells and the storage conditions for your baby's cord blood.
